Trunk (Boot) Badge for my 250SL
« on: November 04, 2003, 12:11:03 »
Hi,

I need a new "250SL" boot badge (goes above the "Automatic" badge). Does anyone have one or know where they can be found?

Hi Andrew,

Sorry but the "250 SL" badge is not available through the MB dealers... I also tried in the German SLS website ( www.sls-hh.de ), but they only have 230 and 280 SL badges...

Good luck!

A member here, Bill Rader, had to look everywhere for a long time to find one for his 250SL.  Very difficult to find.  You can find him listed under Members and send him an e-mail.

Rodd & Albert,

Thanks - I've sent Bill and email. I'm thinking of getting a jeweler or engineer to make one. If anyone's interested in having any done please let me know and I'll get a bulk order.

Have you tried www.slclassics.com? Under the chrome and trim section they show the three different (230,250,280) badges. You would probably need to call/e-mail them to see if they are the ones you seek and if they are available.

There's an easy way to do this.

Find a 250SE badge and cut the top and middle bar off on the E so it rurns into an L . You will need to file and polish it but I've seen them where you couldn't really tell the difference.

Thanks all.

BenzDr - that's what I've got at the moment... a sawn off 250SE. Looks fine but, well, I'd like something better.
