is there a vin plate in doorjam on 1970 280SL?

Is there supposed to be a vin plate in the driver's side door jam on an 1970 280SL or is that something they added in 1971? Thanks!

I think you should have one there.

The driver-sde VIN plate was for late-model US-spec Pagodas. I believe a European delivery car wouldn't have it in 1971.

My 1970 280SL has the vin plate on the drivers side door jamb. As I recall my date of manufacturer is June 1970, Mine is the US model not the Euro.
