Is there a headlight (US Version) gasket on the underside of the chome bezel? I don't have one on my car, but this would seem to be a likely place for one.

I've got a 230SL parts manual. It shows a rubber gasket between the chrome and body on the European version but not on the American one. It seems strange that they would have made a gasket for one and not the other.

I'm guessing the difference between US and Euro is because the US cars are sealed beam lights?
