identify fan shroud
« on: November 09, 2008, 19:52:25 »
I have a metal fan shroud that was sold to me as fitting a 113.  It does not fit my radiator/fan set up.  I have a 68 280sl.  I am hoping someone can tell me which vehicle the shroud will fit.  It is marked: BAUR LN102/0870 DB1135050255.  Thanks

Interesting: if you look up that part number at http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214269, the description comes up as RADIATOR SUP, which I presume to mean "radiator support".  When I look in my 230 SL dealer parts book 10126, the part number is listed as RADIATOR GUARD, and the footnote reads: "on special request, air conditioning system". There is no picture.

Sometimes the radiator shroud won't fit if the engine mounts have collapsed.

Thanks for the reply.  In this case, I suspect that the problem is that when my engine rebuild was completed (today is my first day with the car back by the way) a larger fan blade was used. I am planning to sell the shroud and just wanted to be able to tell prospective purchasers what car it is for.  Thanks again.
