"Latest"..? Looks like she's been a fan since at least 1967, when the first episode aired
OT-- Speed Racer was a good show, but for me he'll always come second to Skid Solo from the old weekly Tiger comics. I vaguely recall him driving a 107 in one issue. In those days, "Skid Solo" and "Martin's Marvellous Mini" rounded out my weekly car comic fix!

People who grew up in the US in the 60s and 70s (and in Japan, of course) may remember this cartoon. It centered around the adventures of a racecar driver named "Speed Racer." It's certainly very familiar to me and must evoke nostalgia for lots of others since even an American car insurance company saw fit to use footage in a retro, campy commercial a couple years back:

Ahh. Speed Racer. I was not a huge fan but I remember it being on everyday when I got home from grade school. For some reason, I turned instead to the Flintstones, Hobo Kelly and of course, that same "Bat Channel..."
