Drain Holes in Floor Reinforcement

About a year ago, I replaced some rusted out floor and lower firewall panels.  The parts are from KK Mfg and all went together really well.

However, the original "floor reinforcement" parts each had a drain hole near the end closest to the rear of the car.  The new parts have no such hole.
I am reluctant to start drilling into the nicely painted and undercoated metal (that no longer goes "crunch" when the car is lifted) but should there be a drain???

Hi Richard

As part of my frame-off restoration, I had to put in completely new floor sections for both the cabin & the boot. We added extra drain holes for further peace of mind on top of the rust-proofing, fish oil, etc. I feel that this was reasonable precaution on my part (even though we have put on new seals, rubbers, etc throughout).

For the record, it's my understanding that those floor reinforcement pieces should never be used as jacking points.  Virtually every original-condition SL I've seen has deformed rails as a result of some past owner thinking that was a jacking point!

The BBB 1968 on.. indicates these are suitable jacking points when using a Cross bracket lifting platform.
A picture (Fig 0-6/2) shows the car supported at these points.
