Color wheel rim
« on: April 19, 2009, 13:53:27 »
Good morning to all.
Let me know if there is a specific color code as used for painting the interior of the channel and the rear wheel rim - first series - (230-250 SL)
The gray-green color used by the factory (SUDRAD) where it was applied after the color of the body on the outside.
Type of rim: 113 400 01 06 (SUDRAD Code: 14005M) - Rim with the three pins for the small hubcap.
Thanks to all.

There is something on this halfway down the page on this page from the Technical Manual http://www.sl113.org/wiki/WheelsTires/Rims but I don't know if it answers your questions.

Hi, yes i read this chapter:

- "230SL - 280 SL early had the visible outer surface of the rims always painted in body color. The rest of the rim is/was painted with a grayish primer, not with body paint"

my question concerns the color "grayish primer"  (?)

I have to restore these wheel rims and I do not know the shades of color.  Thanks a lot for your help. Marco
