Fuel routing for a 1965 230SL automatic
« on: May 15, 2009, 15:05:56 »
All
Thanks for the last pictures that got me straight for my relays on the drivers side.  I am hoping I could get some more but this time I need a few that show how the fuel is routed properly.  As most of you know the the later Injection Pumps changed the side in which the gas was fed and then later returned to the tank.  I had the later pump which was fed outward from the motor initially but now I have period correct pump that feeds  from the inward side for my rebuilt motor. The fuel routing is obviously different and I dont have good photos of how it is routed.  I would like the photos to include the fuel dampener if possible.  Additionally I have been trying to get a new fuel line (metal) to use as a return to the tank but it seems like no one has them.  I bought a new feed line last year no problem but it seems like someone has stopped manufacturing them.  Does any one have the correct size off hand so I can have on made.  Thanks again for all the help.

Wow  thanks I understand now how it comes together.  I will need to get the fuel line fitting from the dampener to make my car complete in this respect.  I think I will go get one made unless someone has a spare off hand.  Thanks for that set of photos because I was lost without them.  I will post a picture soon of my motor.  It is really starting to come together well.  Thanks.
