What holds the rear wheel rotor on a 280SL? Is it held on by the caliper ?

Hello,

The wheel lug bolts hold the drumi on tight .  The caliper is in the way and must be removed so that the disc can be removed. The caliper can just be unbolted without dis-connecting the brake line.
Note the small "peg" coming out of the axle hub, it is used to index the drum duming re`-assembly.  Make sure the emergency brake is released or it will hold the drum on. !
