Wheel bearing lock washer

I am replacing the left wheel bearing on my 1970 280SL. In doing so I need to replace the Lock plate as referred to in the technical manual. This is a washer with tabs that when bent up prevent the "grooved" nut from spinning.
I have found bearing kits from several vendors, however none contain this lock washer.

Does anyone know a vehicle which also has an identical lock washer or where I can order this part?

I got complete bearing kits from the classic center a while back. They included the locks.

Perhaps they can supply the individual parts that comprise the kits.

Still haven't gotten around to doing this job....

I ordered and received the wheel bearing kit but the lock washer doesnt have the bend up tabs, has Mercedes done away with this type washer ?

I have reused the lock tab.  If you turn it 180 degrees, you should have a fresh tab to bend up.

I recently rebuilt my rear axle including replacing the bearings and lock washers. I got the lock washers from K & K Mnfg. They are flat and do not have tabs to fold up. Once tightened I used a punch and a hammer to bend/knock part of the washer up into the groove.

I did what Auret describes when I replaced my rear bearings about 6 months ago. Not exactly a clean result, but an effective one and that's what counts.

thanks to all, it turns out the lockplate is flat and is now designed to punch up at the appropriate grooved slots on the nut
