Age?
In 1967 I took delivery of my first new car: a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. However, the adjacent lot (in Baltimore) was the Mercedes-Benz dealer and they had a white 250SL facing directly at the Olds dealer when I was there. It was nearly twice the price of the Cutlass but I really wanted it. That didn't happen until 18 years later (1985) when I finally bought my 158 white-grey '67 250SL. 27 years later, I still have it, though 5 years ago, during restoration, I changed its color to 268 dark green. I have never been happier with a car.

I turned 81 last week, I never thought I make it that far. In the ///M3 Forum (in 2011) I started a very similar post and it created a lot of interest.

Don’t mind me saying so I think the last sections of this Poll should be ....

60 to 70
70 to 80
80 plus

There are a few of us 80 plus enjoying our Pagoda :) I unlocked this post since many of you fine Ladies and Gentleman have joined this great site after the last post was made some 6 plus years ago. Further I find it interesting reading on a rainy day :)

So don’t be shy, modify your Profile add your birthday (nothing to be a shamed off that date), :) besides The Pagoda SL Group will send you a birthday greeting on your Birthday that I think is a nice touch.

I tost to all you younger Pagoda owners may you reach the high age of the 80s and enjoy your Pagoda as much as I do now. :)

I ordered my 280SL at the age of 29 but turned thirty before it was delivered at Sindelfingen in February of 1969.

Happy Birthday Dieter. You and Ralph are my role models 8). I was almost 23 when I took delivery of my 1st SL, a 250, in May of '67 and just turned 24 when when I drove home in my 280 in '68. Still feel like I am 24 when I get behind the wheel, at least mentally  :)

At age 40, I bought mine.  Can remember the day it happened back in 1983.  Asking price was $13,000.  I responded with a $11,500 offer.  The owner said (exact words)....."Shoot, I'll take $10K for it."    And what did I say?  Not sure; it took me awhile to be able to talk.  ;D

Bought my first, a 63 230SL in 1968 at age 29, my second, a 69 280SL, two years later.  The third, a 250SL, came along in 1979.  Finally, found my current pony, a 67 250SL, at age 74 in 2013.  The first three lasted anywhere from 9 months to two years before moving along.  The current one is a keeper and is destined for my son in SoCal.  Not right now, though!

I bought my first SL on Oct. 13th, 1977 when I was 22 years old; except it was a 190SL. In Nov. 1988 I bought a 280SL from a local used car lot and I kept that car 10 years then sold it with a restoration attached to it. I bought the Red Rocket on Dec. 13th, 1993 the day before my birthday and still own it after 25 years. I've never owned a car this long that I actually drove almost every year because most of them became restoration projects or never were started. So I guess this makes a 113 a very practical car to own and drive.

Dan I agree “it makes a Pagoda very practical and a great car to drive” shall we attempt to drive all the way to Pagoda Fest 2019 along Route 66 to Chicago then Chicago to LA. to take that item off your Bucket List?

What say you?
