Service items part numbers?
« on: October 05, 2009, 16:46:16 »
Hi, Is there a comprehensive list of part numbers/types for service items?
eg, plugs, oil/air fillters, points, fan belts etc.

Interesting site, but a little difficult to sort all the part numbers for what are standard consumables.
Thanks

That looks a lot like every single page of EPCnet on a Russian website.  Is that what it is?

Are you looking for a comprehensive list of all of the maintenance items?  Like filters, bushings, etc?  I'm not sure such a thing exists.

I'm just thinking of items you would normally change on a 6000 or 12000 mile service and v-belts. It would be a useful list to have in the Technical Manual i think. Perhaps with suppliers/prices maybe?

Gnuface,
what car do you have? The maintenance jobs for the 230SL are shown on page 09/1 (Job No. 0-9) in the BBB. I believe that page was eliminated in the 250SL/280SL BBB .
However, the Service Booklet ("Kundendienstheft") that came with every car has a complete list of all the jobs that were done at the regular service intervals - for example, Plan B every 3000 miles or Plan E every 12000 miles.
A list of suppliers is already part of the technical manual and I am sure these people will be happy to quote prices if you inquire. Is that what you wanted to know?

Excellent idea! Can we put you down as author of this new section of the Technical Manual?

Thanks naj, helpful as usual. Not sure those parts will apply to my 280SL. Guess i'll have to troll through the many parts lists online.
I want to carry spare v-belts as well. When i get round to it i will make a list and show it here.

Filters and plugs are the same.
Points etc will depend on distributor on yor car. All part #s are in distributor section in the wiki.
Can probably get belt #s from the old belts?

I believe all models  use the non resistor spark plugs. The resistor plugs usually have an "R" in the number. Of course with these cars there is always an exception, that is why a specific list is so hard to come up with. The non resistor can be hard to find.
