That car looks like the one on display in the MB museum in Stuttgart... really nice color combo.

Thanks for the post.

From about 10 feet away, look just like my car:  same (or near same) color, fog lights, etc.

Looks like a retread to me...it appears to be astoundingly similar to the title

Mercedes 230 250 280 SL
Gold Portfolio
1963-1971
ISBN 1-85520-304-9

Containing:
Road and Comparison Tests
New Models
Performance Data
Profile
Buying Used
Owner Survey
Automatic
Roadster Coupe 230SL 250SL 280SL

Compiled by R.M. Clarke, Published in 1997.  Out of print, but some Amazon sellers have new copies for $88+++!!  That's the trigger for a reissue...I guess Brooklands sees some more money to be made!  We can't comment on history, as this is a compilation of all that stuff as published in Car & Driver, Road & Track, Autotest, Autocar, Motor, etc. but it is an astoundingly poor printing job for which Brooklands should be embarassed.  Everything is cloudy, there are no blacks, just medium gray.  No contrast.  Oh, yes--printed in Hong Kong...let's hope the new one (really, can it be a December 2010 print date?  Are they trying to get it all upfront in pre-orders?) is a little better quality.

Yes, would be a pity if it's just a reprint of the old book.  The old book was informative but it would be nice to see a new book on the Pagoda.

I have found another new book at Amazon. It is called: Mercedes Benz SL: Die Prospekte seit 1954. Apparently it contains brochures of most SL's since 1954. Does anyone know if this book is worth buying. I don't think it is for sale at Amazon.com, but you can find it at the English and German website:
