Headliner color help.

Can anyone give me some guidance on the proper headliner color for my 1970 280SL hard top?  I ordered a replacement headliner from the MB classic car center, but it looks to be a different color.
728- Exterior Paint, Bay Grey Metallic, 138- Interior Trim, Dark Brown MB-Tex

The old headliner looks to be an off white cream color, but what I received from MB looks to be more a light caramel color (hint of red and brown).

Should the headliner be the same color as the sunvisors? If so, this new headliner will not match the sunvisors.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think the sunvisors usually match the interior colour - mine are burgundy as is the rest of the upholstery. My headliner is also shade of perforated off-white as your original one.

There were 3 headliner colors - white, cream, and light bamboo.
According to my chart, your colors should be as follows:

exterior color:  728 - beige gray metallic
hardtop color:  728 - beige gray metallic
MB Tex color:  8010 - dark brown
headliner color:  8036 - cream
carpet color: - 8015 - dark brown
soft top color:  746 - dark brown

It sounds like the classic center sent you a light bamboo headliner which would be incorrect.
The sunvisors are the same color as the headliner

Gentlemen:

Thank you to Rick and John for your quick help on this matter.  you have provided me with the information I needed before I blundered and installed the wrong headliner color.  The classic center sent me 8038 and I agree with rick's assessment that 8036 would be a correct fit.
