Cold Running
« on: March 11, 2004, 09:36:08 »
Apparently, my car has some "cold running" issues - something is not working!

Not being "Mr Technical", the car is being worked on by someone here in London (Roger Edwards). He tells me that I have this issue. Anyone (from a cold place) come across this? It starts first time every time. It does sound a little rough when idling cold and is a little smoky. I just assumed that was normal in a 35 year old car.

While it's in, electronic ignition is going in - which I take it from you folk is a GOOD thing. And a new brake master cylinder. Mine leaks, and braking is also a GOOD thing

Tosh,
He should be able to tell you what the cold start issue is!
Probably a FI Pump thermostat but other possibilities too.
Always good to have good brakes. If the fluid has been leaking in the engine bay, it will lift any paintwork it touches and the area should be properly treated to avoid future rust 'issues'

Here's what mine looked like after cleaning up
