I posted this video over in a thread about my water pump....but thought I might post here as well.   I had the pleasure of replacing mine 185 miles from home on a weekend away with my wife yesterday.  I bought her the car last Nov and we went up to NH and VT for a long weekend in our '69 280 to celebrate our 20th anniversary.  In spite, we had a good time.

I was VERY fortunate to find a new repair shop owner in the small town we were staying in who was willing to let me "help" him with the pump replacement.  Kudos for the "research" available on this site to get the details on the procedure before we began.

Anyway, I have a cheesy, low res digital camera and a suction mount that is fun to play with.  The camera is very small, so you can even, say, lay it on the road and drive the car over it.

It snowed a bit in Stowe VT while were there there, but wasn't really sticking on the road.  I left a day after my wife (had to wait for FedEx to deliver the new pump) so I did enjoy getting the drive the car all the way home myself.....!

Listen for her beep just before she comes over the hill at the beginning, right before the music starts.  You can also see our new $320 NOS passenger side rear view mirror......

Hi John,

Just watched your video, excellent.
Camera may be cheesy but it did a great job of all angles, imagine if Leica  :o was to be put through those angles while driving!

Thanks for sharing. ;)

$$320 for the rear view mirror ...? :o
Ouch....!
SLS currently list this one with €€ 80.92 or so. Thus, should be available for $$ 120.00 or so in your country. ???

It was a nice NOS mirror, still in the original MB packaging.  Not a repro....
