If you ordered your pagoda from the dealer today, what color/interior?

I was looking at the NY get together and the fact that they had two of the tunis metallic cars.  I saw one recently and really liked that color.
This got me to thinking if I were to go back in time and order a new pagoda just the way I wanted it what color would I order?
I love the Ivory on my coupe and the tunis metallic looks good but with only one choice???

Okay,  Orient Red with cognac interior.

Just for fun, anyone else?

I really like the darker colours on a Pagoda as a personal choice so I think the 332 Dark Blue or 904 Midnight Blue with either a Light Grey or White Gray interior, with Silver Hard Top would be my pick.
Will I paint it those colours at the next paint time rather than the original colour, that is another question.

blue has always been my favorite color and I really like Midnight Blue, but on small cars and sports cars I have always enjoyed bright colors.  I'm staying with Signal Red which is the color of my Pagoda.

it would after be silver with blue leather interior ive had red with black int - bit girly - ive had a 107 dark blue with grey leather drove me mad keeping it clean - still waiting for my next one to come from the usa thats arab grey with a cream mb tex int - dont know how much i will love it yet

If the Pagoda were available today--

1)  "We" here would be but a small potential group of buyers.
2)  Some if not most of the combinations (particularly the ones we really like) would not be available; for example, there would probably be only 2 or 3 interior colors.  Nobody makes a large palette like the old days especially in the interior department.
3)  The net result of which would be about 90%+ would be either black, white or silver; than the rest of the <10% would be blues, reds, etc.

I have to jump in here and voice my opinion.  I have a 1970 280SL with 728 H beige grey with 138 dark brown interior.  I would not change a thing with the original color combinations on my pagoda.   I think the dark brown color of the MB-Tex and the 747 dark brown soft top looks very rich and compliments the beige grey exterior very nicely.

but then I guess I could be biased..

I'd happily settle for midnight blue with a parchment leather interior...

...and add to that power steering, 7G-tronic autobox (obviously the engines would be more powerful as well), SatNav and all the other little creature comforts one would expect from a high-end Mercedes.

I like dark colours, mine is 573 dark bordeoux red with cream interior.I like the idea of black with cream interior shows the chrome up well. . Cheers Mike.

This is a very good and tough question.  It will be very hard to make up my mind.  can i get 3 cars?:
1. 291 H dark olive with  216 Cognac Leather Interior
2. 173 G anthracite grey with 242 red  interior
3. 904 G midnight blue  with 254 parchment leather

The classic silver metallic (180) with red interior is what I would order.
Many may think it boring and conventional, but I love it.
It is what I have got, and I would choose it again.

I love mine, navy blue with parchment interior. However, I did see a black one with red interior on Madison avenue which was pretty cool. ( a combination not offered by Mercedes, I understand ), like the pale blue Ferrari with pale blue leather interior that was a special.

I have no doubt in my mind I would love to order my SL in Arabian Gray with Red Leather, but my second choice would almost always be my current color, Medium Gray with Black or Cognac interior.

I've always been under this same impression but was gladly surprised by the "individual" program offered nowdays by BMW. When ordering my wife's 135i, we decided we did not like the stock color combos offered by the dealer (9 different exterior colors and 5 choices of leather + 2 Leatherette), so we went with a special order interior color (saddle brown) and a metallic black exterior. Since we also wanted a 6-spd. and most dealers had auto demo cars, this was our best choice and not only did it allow us to get the car we wanted, it also let us get it for an incredibly low final price.

I believe the tools are there, but are just a little more complex than they were in the past... or at least I imagine since I wasn't around back in the 60's (or early 80's for the matter) to be ordering cars up to my specs.
