Having broke through, eaten and tasted the windscreen of a 1968 MG-C GT on December 19, 1975 at about 3:30PM (you do not forget these things) while sitting on somewhat useless and awful Kangol seat belts, the FIRST order of restoration on my 113 was not just seatbelts, but 3-point retractables. I would NEVER drive in a car without them, period. Lesson learned.
I was only a passenger, and I thank my lucky stars that the brakes were working on that MG. My driver friend had just tuned things up and we had that 3-liter straight 6 roaring that car at over 100 MPH just minutes before. Those Kangols, similar to those on other Brit cars we had, were difficult at best to adjust.
I guess some people feel "safe" with lap belts only, and others feel "restricted" by safety belts in general.
It was a nice video iin that it did not need to show death and destruction to make the point. Thanks Tosh.
