GRANADA, SPAIN
Spent a few days close to Granada and can recommend the A44/E902 from Granada down to the coast. This is a new road (2yrs+) that takes the wrinkles out of mountain travel while still keeping you in the fold of the Sierra Nevada foothills.
Once you reach the Suspiro del Moro pass (where the departing Moorish King's mother said " Don't cry like a woman for what you couldn't defend as a man") it gets exciting. Most of it is a descent that can be done safely at high speed (120kmh speed limit). Ski in the morning, lunch/tapas at the Alhambra, swim the Med in the afternoon!
The Malaga to Granada A45/A92 is also a good run. And for those of you who want to exercise your vertigo, a visit up to the Alpujarras(A348) is thoroughly recommended!!
Only wished the Pagoda had been with us!
