1966 250s. is it worth it?
« on: August 03, 2010, 23:42:58 »
went and saw this local 66' 250s for sale. car is all original. body is straight with no rust. the auto trans is solid as well as the rear axle.

the only issues are the front suspension needs to be gone through, interior is thrashed (seats, carpet, window wood), and the engine puffs little white smoke while cold. (valve seals im guessing), but it is turn key and needs no pumping of the accelerator

i got the guy down to $1500 for it.
do you think this is a good deal?

Looks like a very good deal at $1500. Beautiful body and paint.

Don't mention to the seller your desire to obtain the exremely rare and unusual battery hold-down strap. He may want more for the car.

Seriously, it looks like it's worth the money either as a driver or for parts.

I agree it appears to be a nice car and priced okay.  Regarding the battery strap, I thought that was used soley for strapping hot water heaters to the wall so they don't fall over in an earthquake.... ;)
