BERU 5 MM Clamps & strapping

I am looking for info on how to install the BERU clamps & strapping. I have received the BERU fittings, strapping & cotter clips from the Mercedes Classic Center but have no idea how to assemble them or install them. I want to put them on the braided vacuum line that connects the brake booster to the intake manifold. My 280 SL had the conventional style clamps on it so I have no frame of referance. Any help would be appreciated, pictures, discriptions, dioghrams or referances that you know of ?

BTW, the cotter-key clamps and strap in both 5 and 9 mm are a dealer item.  The flip clamps need to come from the Classic Center, though.

Flip clamps are sort of a combination of the cotter key style and a screw tightening style. I have not been to the 190SL site lately, but they did have a good description of what they look like and how they are fit. There is a single head/screw piece, that you fit the banding to, and then tighten up. They need a closer tolerance than the cotter key style. I do not have a picture, but I am sure someone will. I don't think they were used on the 113's. They really look cool on the intake runner for a 300 SL.

In addition, here is a copy of the rare and NLA power steering hose clamps...

The modern Mercedes clamps are a "Norma Type".  Brand is "Gemi" and they are very nice. They even have a little three pointed Mercedes Star stamped in the stainless steel band. In true German fashion, the clamps are engineered to be very kind to your rubber hoses. They have no open slots in the band. This prevents the band from extruding and damaging the rubber hose. In addition the sides of the stainless steel bands are flared slightly upward so the edge of the band can never cut into the rubber!

Visit your local Mercedes dealer, The Classic Center, or your local bone yard to harvest some of these gems (Gemi's)

Hello Jonny,

The flip style clamps were used on the rear axle boot of some of the W113 cars. I am not sure if the cotter pin style  was ever used on the axle boots of W113 cars.  the changed to the cotter pin type.

Here is a photo of an assortment of original and "original type" clamps I have seen on these cars.

Fortunately, they still maintain some of the original designs of the individual companies.  For example, it looks to me that your "S" style flip-clamp could be this one from ABA but unfortunately the strap is not solid:

see link from an earlier posting...actually quite easy if this is what you are looking for. Do you happen to have the part numbers? I need to order a couple for my rear brake lines. I lost mine somehow during my 20 years of storing and moving boxes.

See link for diagram. The strap then just feeds through the cotter pin and when you turn the pin the strapping will tighten.

are you asking me    My comments were mostly about the Norma style clamps.
Anyway, here are the part numbers for the 5mm and 9mm Cotter style clamps:
5mm: Winder ("Cotter pin") 900262 005100;  Tape: 900262 005000
9mm: Winder: 900262 009100; Tape: 900262 009000
On a Pagoda when they were used almost all clamps were 9mm wide including those on the axle. The only 5mm wide ones that I remember are those on the drain hoses that connect the drain pipes from the air (and rain) intake compartment through the cabin and out to the floor.
The band for the S-style clamps in Joe's photo is the same 9mm as listed above but the clamp is only available from the Classic Center and they wont divulge the p/n.

Just went to my Mercedes dealership who called the Classic Center for me. They told us that the 9mm strapping has been discontinued! Now what to do

that is very odd. I have just ordered the 9mm tape (p/n 900262 009000) from my favorite supplier who tells me that there is plenty (+100m) available in the USA.
I can sell you some if you cannot get it.

I found out that these clamps were used on the radiator of late 280SLs - the 1968 BBB has a nice photo.  
I wonder how many cars out there still have them?
