weight difference among SL models?
« on: September 12, 2010, 17:47:57 »
Hi all,

I noted that carfolio indicates a weight of 1295kg for the 230SL and 1360kg for the 250 and 280SLs. Any idea of what is involved in this 65kg iincrease? Is it just additional equipment or is it more structural? Also, how much does a hard-top weight?

Thanks!

It's more structural and it depends if you want some additional weight, and the price of the hard top weight depends on where you bought them...

Oil Cooler, Oil Piping, Additional Radiator weight, interior padding, head rest, full seat belts, metal shrouds, 9 Blade fan, and a disc brake setup in the back are just a few things that added some weight to the car.
