Very nice - but what's the story about the blue Pagoda on a trailer - breakdown or unfinished restoration that was brought along?

Fantastic! I felt like I was there and wish I was.  :o
When I lived in the Stuttgart area I visited the Alsace region several times, traveled the Route de Vins d'Alsace, visited all of the small villages
and went to the Cite de l'Automobile museum in Mulhouse.
But I had a BMW  :'( at that time.

Everybody did a great job on the pictures.

Thanks,
Otto

Ulf

Car was fine, owners wanted a bit of comfort on the way there and back... I didn't see it.. but Martijn S (the owner) added some really excellent photographs to the set today... so if you looked before this post, look again!

One car was rented (a white one with German Registration). All the others are owned by members of this group... I think that might be Naj's!

Yes, that's correct; it is Naj 'Hillclimber' Jesani's car.

Ulf,

I must confess that the Pagoda on the trailer is my car.  :o There was and is nothing wrong with it. The reason was the distance we had to travel from Holland to France. I never drove the Pagoda about 500 miles in one day before. We thought it was more comfortable to drive a modern car with a trailer behind it. And the other reason was that we wanted a backup in case of technical problems with the Pagoda.
My friend has an Alfa Romeo Spider from 1986. Once he drove it from Holland to Portugal. In Portugal the gear box broke down. So he had two options. Wait a week for parts or transport the car back to Holland on a truck. He chose the last option.
That is how the idea of the trailer came up. We did not want to experience something like that again. Of course in this case it was no Alfa! We had no troubles at all. We don't regret we brought the Pagoda on a trailer, but of course all the other members laughed at us when we arrived in France :-)

There are a lot of very nice pictures from everyone. When I look it at them I experience the event all over again.
Tonight I have uploaded the rest of my photos:

Thanks for this refreshing story. Pics are truly phenomenal; this story is a real expression of this group. Hope that you did not speed up to much on these roads. French gendarmes are tough to negotiate with ;D

I hadn't known about the trailer so may I please take this opportunity to laugh at Martijn :D :D Have some faith!

Apart from Larry's shifter bushing, did anyone have any troubles with their car that meant they had to do repairs (or worse)? 24 Pagodas, I know i did 1700km as did the other Brits (Naj and Rob likely more). At a guess that's likely to be approx 30,000km over the weekend by the time we factor in the Stuttgart rentals and so on.

Very nice photos, Kemal. One can see that these are not just snapshots. Great!

Tosh, I know you are right. I must have some faith in the reliability of the Pagoda. Just after I bought the car (two and half years ago) I had some technical problems. First a failing water pump and then a failing fuel pump during a drive. These issues have been fixed, and many others too. It is much more reliable now.
Peter told me last week that he had visited Van Dijk just before the event. He told the mechanics about my trailer adventure. I guess they reacted the same as you. And they will laugh at me again next time I visit Van Dijk.

So next event I will drive the Pagoda. And if not, I will park the trailer very, very, very far out of sight  ;D

Great pictures!  Thanks....

At a glance, it appears that there are more white, light ivory, etc. colored cars than there are are darker colors.

Second observation, in every instance, the woman is far more attractive than the man she is photographed with.
