What do you get when you put a '65 MB 600 a 2002 SL600 together with Paul Bracq and Karl Middelhauve? You get this!

Yes, it does really look a lot like the Camarque - perhaps even better with the mix of steep, classic angles and the very raked windscreen of the 129. But this always provokes mixed emotions in me - hope that both cars were beyond salvation...

For the love of god, why do such a thing - looks like ****. Changing the roof and the rims also might help!

Karl and Paul go way back. Paul Bracq designed the more staid half pick up trucks (think Ranchero or El Camino) that Karl built, and they are El Benzo and Benzomino. You can probably find those too, on the mbgrand website, or the m100 group website.

I must say that I'm not a big fan of conversions, but one must admire the craftsmanship that Mr Middelhauve has put into that specific conversion and the two pick-ups (or utes if you wish).
Not my cup of tea though...

Awful. Glad he was a bit younger when he designed the 113's.

Nope, not my cup of tea. A lot of good craftsmanship for sure, but why do that?
Crash testing this would be out of the question

The actual drawings don't look so bad. The one that was chosen for the car doesn't look like like it's shown. Karl has done a coupe version before but the only car used was a 600. Perhaps the same should have been done this time around but add a soft top while getting rid of the metal roof.
All said it's not my cup of tea either.
