About that Warm Running Device on 230SL
« on: October 22, 2010, 01:43:14 »
I have a 65 230SL with cold starting problems.  I have determined that the Warm Running Device is not sucking any air which I assume means it's not richening the mixture either.  Is this something I can clean and loosen up or is it a bit $$$ item to replace?   How hard is it to remove and clean?
Thanks.

When I had my WRD apart I found that there is a screw that when turned will hold the air slide closed, I have no idea what this would be used for but it is something to check. The slide can stick too, sometimes trace amounts of coolant can leake in and gum the piston up. Not that difficult a job to do, just make shure all the shims and spacers go back in the same place.
