Although not new to caring for and servicing cars, trucks, and machinery, I am new to the forum and recently purchased a 4 speed '69 280SL.
Can you advise which brand/weight of motor oil, gear oil, etc. to use? The engine is still tight, runs great, and seems to not use hardly any oil. I've had the car for 3 months and the oil level has not moved on the dipstick. I am curious to know what other recommend to use for motor oil, transmission gear oil, rear end gear oil, etc. Do you recommend adding ZDDP to the oil? Is this necessary? I plan to service the car myself. Thanks, GA Jim
