Hard top dimensions please
« on: January 05, 2011, 12:41:53 »
Hi,

I am currently building more shelves in my garage and I need to leave room to fit my hardtop when it is standing on its stand. Unfortunately the car is not with me at the moment.

Could I ask a favour. I need the vertical height and greatest width of a hard  when on a stand. Height will be from the stand up and therefore I will add the height of my stand. Heights may vary a little depending on the angle that the top is leaning on but I can factor that in.

If someone could take a moment and run a rule over their standing hardtop it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

My home made hardtop stand holds the rear lip of the HT 10 cm off the floor. Height to the top is 580 cm. Therefore, standing height of HT is approximately 570cm.
Max width is 460cm.

CORRECTION:
Change those measurements to mm - NOT CMs.

64" high X 59" wide should do it with a little room to spare. (that's in a standard e-bay type rolling stand)

These dimensions must be for your 1:3 model  :'(

My scale diagram shows the front track at 1484mm and the hard top is at least as wide as the track. The car width is 1760mm,

My "inches" measurement equates to 1500 mm wide by 1625 mm high if that helps.  We southern US boys are not used to the metric system except when wrenching on "furrun" cars.

Guys,

Thanks for taking the time to get the tapes out - either metric or imperial.

mait, your measurements are good, although you may have left off the "1"in front of each. And as for the good ole southern wrenchman, my experience is that they are normally smarter than they make out to be (or is that smarter than they look??) either way thanks again for helping, and to Naj for keeping an eye on things by suggesting, ever so politely, that mait was a slice short of a loaf.

Cheers
