Thank You to all the Contributors on this Site

I just sold my 1970 280SL.  It was time to move on to other projects.

I wanted to tell you thank you for all your wonderful support, technical know how and friendliness of all the contributors to this site.  This site has been invaluable to me, just to let you know what I was able to accomplish because of your information:
•   Removed and had the heater re-cored.  This was the first job that I tackled - after that job I do believe that the 280SL heater core was the first thing that started down the production line and the rest of the car was assembled around it.
•   Replaced all heater and ventilation levers and associated cables.
•   Removed and refurbished the heater inlet valve so that it actually worked.
•   Removed the transistorized ignition and installed a Crane ignition.
•   Solved a long term rich running IP through shim removal at the WRD.
•   Corrected a sticky starting relay.
•   Corrected a seized windshield washer pump, without having to buy a new one.
•   Adjusted intake and exhaust valves.
•   Replaced numerous fuel hoses and the fuel pump
•   Removed glass from all gauges, cleaned and replaced
•   Removed, had rebuilt, then replaced the power steering box
•   Replaced tie rods and steering damper and drag link
•   Replaced window and top weather seals
•   Changed drivers window to the channel felt vice the guide jaws
•   Installation of three point seat belts,  installing return reels below the package shelf
•   Adjusted window position
•   Replaced turn signal switch.•

While my car was not a concours vehicle it was a daily driver - a real blue collar worker – attached are two pictures.

Thank you again and I wish you all warm, sunny days blasting down your favorite road with the top down listening to the exhaust of your car that is not running hot or rich.
