perforated leather

hi Guys,
I'm doing my interior and also helping a friend with his.  He has found some really nice leather to use, but it seems everyone here tells him that the center pleats in the seats must have perforation and in a very specific pattern. From looking at various photos of cars in this site and others, there seem to be quite a few different patterns.  Could someone post a photo of the pattern the perforation needs to be for an early 230SL?  It would be nice to see close ups for both the leather and MB tex.  IS there a place he can send his leather to get the perforations?  I can't help much because I am doing my seats without the perforations and only follow the tailoring pattern.
Please also let us know what pattern goes with what year if possible.
Thanks.
