I went to wikipedia, learned a little, but unsure what the going prices are on these cars.  I know it's a multi-owner, covered in a lady's garage, Red/black (red, not burgundy), & that's about it. I'll be looking for rust, manual trans vs auto, euro vs US, re-paint, interior condition, etc.

Not sure if I'll keep the car or sell it as my garage is quite full already, but would really appreciate some feedback on what this car *should* go for.

Thanks again,

Mark

Ok, as you can see from my title correction, car is/was a 230sl, Euro-model.

Black car that appears to have been repainted red 2x, once good, once not so good. Paint has shrink marks, scratches, crows feet, small dents over most all the body...so it's definitely in need of a full restoration/paint. Rust noted in a few medium spots in the front fender wells & under the rockers. Trunk appears clean.

Engine compartment & trunk all show signs of an original black car, as all the other 230's I've seen for sale have paint-color matching engine compartments & undersides of hood.

Interior is original; seats are excellent, as is carpet. Dash, steering & wood trim all need restoration. Radio is not original. Engine is clean & runs great, transmission shifts great too. Nice car, LOVE the horn (never heard one before). Top was replaced 20 years ago & is in excellent shape except the back mylar is a bit faded: dunno if that's dirt or oxidation.

Needless, the car is too much for us to take on.... though I might buy it to resell...havin't made up my mind yet.

The seats and carpet are not original. Also missing chrome trim behind rear wheels.  Value is subjective.  Depending how bad the rust is $10,000-$15,000.  Mine needed and needs some mechanical refreshing but runs good and has decent older paint and nice interior and I paid $15,000 for it 2 1/2 years ago so I am compairing my purchase.

Yeah I was thinking teen's as well. Didn't know the seats & carpet were not...I'm not alien to older German interiors but my experience is with Porsche's. Nice to know about the chrome, I'll have to look at more pictures.

Asking price not established yet: she has no idea, I'm gathering data for her.
