Completed restoration.
« on: April 27, 2011, 20:35:05 »
So, last week we handed over a 250SE convertible that we've been restoring for a customer for 18 months. We stripped it back to a bare shell and every peice has been subjected to repair, renewal, replacement or overhaul as necessary. (Pics to follow).
We handed the car over last thursday ( start of a long weekend here in the UK) and the owner was back this morning under a dark cloud. He was behind another car at a junction, car in front moves off, my customer looks to the right for oncoming traffic, see none and moves off. Can you guess what happened next?

Not as bad as it might have been but the really annoying thing is that the front wings (fenders) were NLA and I managed to find a NOS pair from a wiley old character who knew exactly what he had and charged £1000 each for them! Sure,, we can repair this but......

You must be as gutted as the owner. Sure it's "work" but ...
