While there were some 280 SLs manufactured in 1967, 143 to be exact, your VIN probably indicates a 1968 manufacture. The following chart is adapted from the book

My own car, a 1969 280 SL, ends in -7262 and has a January, 1969 production. Based upon your VIN I would suggest that your car may have been manufactured in late 1968.
