Some notes: first, go to the END of the article first--I give credit where credit is due. I had content and editing assistance, from "the usual suspects" to borrow a line from Captain Renault at the end of
Casablanca.Second, Jim--that IS an early (1963?) 230 SL from the Daimler Archives, except for the photo of my car and the ones from Ray Bragg.
Third, the editor of The Star, Gary Anderson, otherwise untainted and unbitten by this Pagoda bug, added, removed, and altered some things that we (the suspects) just see through. As editor, I think he did a great job adding a bit of polish to the piece.
Lastly, there was a tremendous amount of detail that had to be edited out, unfortunately, due to the 4-page limit and format that this series of Buyer's Guides must conform to.
Remember it was written not so much for us, but for those who know little about the car. Perhaps we can get a PDF, if the group sees fit, and post it for download on the site. It IS available now (not in PDF however) here
