Any Jag E Type Owners/experience of E Types here?
« on: May 18, 2011, 22:26:27 »
Evening,

I have a great friend who is looking for an E Type Jag. He's an admirer of the 113, but we've agreed that he's more suited to the Jaguar (long story). He is a Brit, but not UK based, and I suspect would probably be best suited to buying in the US.

Does anyone here know of a forum similar to ours, to which I could refer my friend? In my view, the best place to learn about 113s and to meet potential sellers is this site. I assume the same could be said for the E type.

Grateful for any advice or pointers.

Many thanks,

JH

James,

I just bought one in the USA three weeks ago.  It is currently being shipped to Joe Alexanders home for me to use at PUB and then bring home after a LH toRH conversion being done by Tom Colitt.

Ebay is one place to start but he will need to get someone to look at the car before hand. an alternative is to use a guy called Ivan Ruiz who collects Maserati and Jags but also can do a purchase on anyones behalf he is at http://www.thecarnut.com

a reasonable source for information on Jags and occasionally some for sale is these two sites

Hi, Garry,

Thanks for the links. I'll definitely get amongst those. I suppose the key thing is to be patient and vigilent.

Will PM you also.

Hi James Howard,
There is a british racing green Jaguar XKE for sale doen the street from my home.  Looks to be a pretty decent looking car.  Has a few small issues with the trim and rubber gaskets.
I can get the tel number for you if your friend.

Hi Walter,

That would be great. If you could drop it to me in PM I'd be very grateful.

Hi JH,
Well it's my rotten luck.
The XKE has disappeared from the usual parking spot.
Not sure if  it has been sold yet.
Will keep you posted.
