Motor rotation and bolt
« on: June 17, 2011, 00:21:49 »
To my knowledge most all 4 stroke engines rotate clockwise- from the front or counter clockwise from the drive end (flywheel end) in my dilemma this means the crankshaft will pull the auxiliary shaft( IP and distributor) , the cam, and then the slack in the chain will be removed by the tensioner. But to turn the crank do I need a 19mm,22mm or is the crank bolt an allen?  Dose anyone know the dia. of my tensioner ball?

Hi, Tom,

Crank bolt is 27mm

I think the tensioner ball is 4mm dia

Quote from Jaco would suggest its 3mm:
"Unfortunately I can't provide you with the size of the ball in the chain tensioner, but only a part number: N005 401 305 000
These should still be available if you order it through your local Mercedes dealer."
