Nyalic coating

Looking thru some old Yahoo content, I see Frank Mallory Sr. recommending this for clearcoating various parts. I was thinking of using it on the band clamps holding the coolant overflow tank. Further searches show it is used a lot in marine and aircraft applications. It sounds like a very good product.

The "hits" show a lot of Australian, New Zealand posters, but no sources for Nyalic.

Anyone know where to get it?

when I was more hooked into sailing I remember that many boat owners used this stuff to treat hulls since it was cheaper than varnish and easier to apply.

The problem with Nyalic is its low resistance to solvents and I am not sure how it would hold up in an engine bay.  

For this reason I have used VHT SP115 satin clear coat on the manifolds and other parts in my 230SL and Joe A. has now also used it on the 280SL.

On  car it can be cured simply by firing up the engine to the desired temperature. Since the manifolds were off the car I used a gas grill to cure them as instructed.

I was did a cosmetic clean up of a 1966 Mustang some years ago. A lot of Mustang parts will rust overnight once the old oil and grease is cleaned off.

I used Nayalic to protect the newly cleaned parts.

The Nayalic was from Eastwood.
