190 SL Convention
« on: September 29, 2011, 23:59:53 »
Thought you guys might like to see some pics from this years 190 SL convention in Virginia.  I had the pleasure of driving a 1970 280 SE Cab, a whole different animal than our 113s.  Made a movie of our ride in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Did you drive YOUR 190 SL to the convention?  Looks like many owners did.  How was the drive?

No I didn't.  And I'm glad I didn't.  There was a fair amount of rain, and mine melts when it gets wet.

I was driving the black W111 convertible that you can see the fender and star in the movie.  Nice car!

There are usually about 30 cars and 100 members at the convention.  I drove mine to Michigan last year.  You might recognize the bridge.

Yes--I recognize the bridge from photos.  Believe it or not, that's nearly 300 miles and about 4.5 hours drive from Detroit.  I've never been there...

Really nice photo though!
