Beautiful fall day, perfect weather, got out and wound her up a few times.  Most of the driving 50-60 mph.  Quick stop for an errand and back home.  Didn't get to the freeway to give you the 90+ mph. ride.

If you pick the highest resolution and full screen (lower right corner) you can see the gauges well when the lighting is good.  But, your computer has to be able to handle the streaming.

Very nice drive.  You look so relaxed.
Interested to know what video camera you have and how you mounted it.  The picture is so clear and no vibration detected what so ever.

It was a nice drive.

I use the Contour camera with the suction cup mount.  In this case I placed the mount on the top boot lid and aimed the camera through the windshield.

I agree you do look very relaxed and the video is great.  I was trying to see at what rpm you shift at but the resolution wasn't good enough.  I find I tend to shift as it starts to go over 3000rpm.  It is more the sound of the engine that tells me when to shift, but that is based more on newer cars which tend to operate at much lower rpm's for the same speed.  Just curious.  Thanks for sharing.

I hoped the gauges would be clearer, but the light played a big role, depending on what direction I was travelling.  On the high resolution and large screen you can see the gauges.

To your question, normal driving, I'm usually shifing around 3800, as you say, by sound.  In the film, I ran her up to 5500+ a few times in 2nd and 3rd.  But, the wind noise didn't allow me to include the sounds in the film.  I'm working on a solution w/o raising the top.  I make it a point to run up the rpms regularly.  This car doesn't like grandma style driving.  Seems real happy on the freeway clocking 4500 rpm.

  Nice journey thanks for sharing.  I grew up in Ohio and miss those cool crisp fall days with all the color.  I just don't miss what follows.  The music is nice but it woud be nice to hear the car going through the gears.  Perhaps if you utilized a corded mike and located it down in the cabin.  Do you have a port for an external mike?

No external jack, and yes, I was hoping to hear the gears and engine, but the wind noise overcame everything.  There is no external jack, but I have some other ideas and how to achieve the desired effect.

Mike, you may be saying iin jest the perception that my cars are garage queens.  They're not...miles driven this summer:

Porsche 356 - 700 miles
250 SL - 800 miles
190 SL - 900 miles

The 356 gets less driving during the summer because it's a coupe.  I get more miles on it once the weather turns cool and I drive the ragtops less.

So, if the 250 was my only car, I'd have 2400 miles on it this summer.

But, yes, the cars are queens.  I demand they drive as well as they look, because I drive them whenever I can (not to work).
