Last top down day?
« on: October 16, 2011, 15:48:00 »
Did an "Italian tune up" out by the beach this am (let the car fly and clean out the injectors etc for a few miles)  Put in my stabil filled up the tank and sumarized projects for the winter.

Tach needs to come out for rebuild-
new gasket around softtop cover-
hmm while thats out how about a new softtop?
finally a wet sand to clean up the scuffs from heh tarp that was used in a photoshoot.

This will be a costly winter

Your Autumn, our Spring,  Beautiful day yesterday, went for a spin with top down for first time.  Its been a cold and wet winter.

Roll on Summer and lots of sunny days like yesterday.

So far New York City weather has been quite mild...nearing November and we are still near 70 degrees (21 c) so I'm out there keeping the world safe for Pagodas with the top down...

The sun is out; the temp above 50 (not much above) so perhaps worthy of another round this afternoon.
No snow for Michigan yet.

Did nearly 600 Km of dirving over the past two days with the top down. Roll on summer.

Car died on me for the first time since ownership on the freeway out of Melbourne at the start of trip. After a quick look under bonnet I thought it would be safer to call the RACV (RAA equiv) and get off the road. After waiting 1/2 an hour, I decided I needed to fix it myself so went hunting under bonnet.
Cracked the fuel line at the injector and plenty of fuel so started tracing electrical.  Found one fuse blown so replaced that, car did not start but light in Trunk did as well as light under dash and clock :D :D Checked all the wires to coil then noticed what appeared to be a broken wire from the + side of coi to the resistor.  Replaced the wire and had an immediate start and no further problems for whole of trip.
Most scary being on edge of freeway.  Initially used the starter motor to drag the car in gear as far off the side of road as possible but with huge trucks passing at 100 kph only a few feet from you is is a most unsafe feeling.

Whilst stopped on the side of the freeway, the person I purchased the car from years back went by and stopped and had a chat.  First break down and the seller goes by.  How coincidental is that.

I also finally got music in the car for the first time ever using an amplifier from the speaker and my iphone. Had a great trip other than the initial problem. Now I know why I replaced my non working Becker with the blanking plate.  The sound from only a dash speaker is not much chop.
