dipstick pipe A127 010 08 66
« on: November 04, 2011, 18:39:14 »

Hello,

Does anybody of you know how to pull off the engine's dipstick pipe from the (large) oil pan?
Mine is rusty and I would like to have it zink-plated.

It appears to me that it is only stuck in but not screwed in or so. It's tight, could it be that it is glued? :o
Or is it possible to just pull it out?

Many thanks in advance,

Hello Achim,

They are a tight fit, but are just forced into place. Most likely the factory used a little sealer around them. I always use heat on the aluminum around the pipe. Then twist back and forth while pulling upward.  It seems to help a lot.

Tough ones may require a slide hammer to remove. Fit a collar around it and hook the slide hammer to the collar and pop it out.
