Part number for top handle pouch?
« on: June 02, 2004, 11:27:19 »
Does anyone know the factory part number for the black pouch used to store the top handles?  This pouch is not shown with the handles in the OEM parts list book.  It also may have superceded to the 107 chassis handle pouch.

I do not have my parts book available, but these things have come up from time to time on e-bay. Good hunting, you might also try oursl, millers, or some of the other supply places to see what they have.

I make pouches how many do you need? Maybe you have something 113 to trade? I am not looking for business just looking to help you out. I stopped listing these on e-bay because I thought anyone who needed one bought one... business slowed down after I sold a bunch...I will try and post a picture they are faithful reproductions made of leather not vinyl. Did you know that the department of transportation made Mercedes Benz outfit the 113 with a removeable handle! I am told the DOT thought that in an accident one's head could become impaled by the then "fixed" handles that you 230SL owners enjoy, many early cars also had vanity mirrors on the passenger side visor...the DOT also made MB do away with that handy item for the same accident danger. Can you imagine? I mean almost every modern day auto has a mirror. Go figure.

Hey Ernie,
Sign me up for a pouch, too! I assume one pouch holds both handles, right?
I have no MB parts to trade, but will gladly send you a check, if that's acceptible.
How much $$$ ?

Currently, I have the 2 handles wrapped in foam with a big rubber band to hold them all together. Not exactly convenient, nor flattering.  :x

TIA  ;)
