If you are in the MBC they give you 10% discount on most parts but only if you ask. Mervyn (retired now) used to do it automatically but be sure and ask Sean to make sure you get it..

Winston, if you are a MBCA member, at a minimal cost of $49 per year, you will get a 15% discount on parts from the Classic Center.  A lot of the corporate dealerships will also give a 10 - 15% discount on parts, if you ask them.  Private dealerships will sometimes also give you this discount if you tell them you can get it at the corporate dealership.  If purchasing from the Classic Center make sure you mention you are a MBCA member.  See details here http://www.mbca.org/membership.  There are a number of other benefits in joining, not just the discount on parts.

The discount at the Classic Center is one component; the advertisements for various vendors that specialize in all things Mercedes is invaluable as well--they appear in the 6x per year Star Magazine (to which I contribute every now and then).  When I "got" my Pagoda (i.e. rescued it and shipped it to the restorer) the first thing I did was join, just for The Star, and found--some years before this group existed--all the usual vendors that helped out.

One can also get 5% to over 60% on all purchases at Sears with a MBCA membership.
Need to make a phone call and they will set up purchase and tell you what the discount will be.

Also some of the prices are better at the restoration center than any where else.
ex special srew  for the hard top frame $6.00 dealer with mb club discount - restoration center $2.00.

Good shopping

RonB,
Sorry if this is obvious, but by the "restoration center", are you referring to the Classic Center?

Could you elaborate on this?  I have no idea how a "Sears discount" would be related to MBCA membership....

When you are a member of mbca you can make ANY purchase at Sear ex. tools - tires ect. and receive
a discount starting at 5% + UP. My understanding it can go over 50% on some items.

I went to the mbca web site and it gives this information there.

As to the cost at the at the classic center - if found some items much less than dealer - even though
I received 15% off with mcba membership at the dealer/

It's 15% at Classic Center and usually 10% at dealer. The dealer discount also applies to service! This may be less important on a pagoda but if you own a current model the 10% off a service can amount to the annual MBCA dues. Joining the MBCA is really a no brainer.
