Hello folks.

I am having a 230SL repaired in Australia. I have been advised that the repairers (a reputable firm) have contacted Germany for parts but have been told that several parts I need are no longer available: specifically, sun visors, wooden dash trim (between instrument binnacle and windshield) and a white gear knob. This is inconsistent with my understanding that *every* part needed for a Pagoda could still be obtained ex-factory, to the point that ($$$ permitting) you could build a car from scratch if you wished.

Is anyone able to shed any light?

All the parts you mentioned I was able to buy. But there are a lot of parts that are NLA

There are a number of parts that are NLA and there has been quite some discussion on this forum about what is and isn't available so a  search will highlight some of them.

The timber is available from Classic Centre in California or from SLS in Germany (See parts suppliers list on this forum) White gear nobs are available from the same place but the sun visors are NLA.  There was a member on this forum from UK that remanufactured new ones so do a search on sun visors and you will find it.  He is the only one as far I know that has had them in the last few years.

Where abouts in AUstralia are you having this all done.  QLD?
