Seat Parts
« on: March 13, 2012, 21:20:49 »
Started my "winter project" (close to spring...) and have begun taking apart my driver's seat.

First question--the plastic clamp piece that holds on the boomerang shaped chrome caps on either side of the seat adjusting mechanism.

Anyone have any idea if these are available and a part number?  One of mine is missing, the other marginal.  I suppose plan B is holding the caps on with self stick foam tape...

Hi Mike--

I used the double sided tape. Easy to use.

Just for the record, my boomerang pieces seem to be held on differently. They have small metal tabs built into them that grasp the back part... My seat is also "under construction"!

Yours is a 230, might be different.  Mine is as follows (280): bent over metal tab on chrome cover fits over the "under hinge" at the top.  The plastic aforementioned piece slides over the lower part of the under hinge, and provides two dimples.  These dimples fit into holes in the edge of the chrome cover.

oh, so maybe I just haven't gone in so deep. I just had to loosen chrome cover (with the tabs) to get things apart.... sorry to get in the way here!

Since we are on the subject... Can anyone tell me about the rear attachments for the seats (where they bolt to floor)? On side A I had a bolt that screwed into a receiver clip. Side B had the same clip but instead of the bolt locking into the clip, it had a nut on the bottom. This nut was seized -- I had to cut the bolt. So, I am guessing the receiver clip for side A is correct? Would anyone have an extra one or know the P/N? Thanks...

Thanks much Naj! Not to be needy but is there a specific bolt that goes with it?
