So I have read that somehow my 1971 (production date Nov 1970) had some kind of one off outside door handles. I have now had 4 different door handles and none of them would lock... They all open the door, I can lock the door from inside but Cannot lock from outside, I have adjusted till I was blue in the face. I now when I got car there were no door handles and I bought some, I figured the first didn't work because the lock part that sticks into the door was a half round with cut out, so bought another more square type, got both locks keyed to my ignition lock but still cant seem to unlock from outside... I see Buds Benz has a outrageously expensive door handle that says it pushes in even when locked for a 1971... will no other one work? Would I be better switching the door latch part? (I can get a pair from a 1969)
