The next big thing…
Now that Pagoda Style has been completed and delivered, it is on to the “next big thing.” (Orders are still being taken for Pagoda Style, of course, and reviews in SL Market Letter, The Star, Hemmings, and OurSL are just appearing now, and about 70% are already sold or distributed.)
Those of you astute enough to read carefully, and between the lines, know that there is a limited edition Paul Bracq Pagoda print edition coming soon. The chosen art is what appeared first in the article on Paul Bracq I wrote for the [MBCA] Star magazine in the November-December 2011 edition, and appears as a small picture on page 54 of that magazine. It also appeared of course on the front cover of Pagoda Style. Paul and I chose this together in March of 2011 in his studio in Bordeaux; we had to choose a painting that was not already in a private collection. Of the available Pagoda paintings, we thought this was the best.
The painting will be reproduced by Giclée. This is digital fine art print, using archival inks on deckle edged, archival water color paper such as Arches or equivalent. Giclée is the accepted standard today for limited edition prints. Giclée is a spin-off technology that came from contract color proofing in the color printing industry. If you Google the word Giclée you can learn more about this digital process.
The edition will be limited to 200 prints, done in small groups as sales occur. They will all be signed by the artist, and numbered and delivered along with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. I am doing this as publisher and patron to Paul Bracq. The editions will be printed in the United States at a Giclée studio that specializes in limited edition art prints. Prints will be dispatched to Mr. Bracq for signing and numbering.
This will be Mr. Bracq’s first Giclée edition, and your first opportunity to own a Bracq painting, as it were, at an affordable price. Typically his paintings have been in the $2,000 to $4,000 price range, which is not atypical for high quality original art from a well-known painter, but generally beyond affordability for many.
There will be several levels of pricing for pre-orders; preferred numbering, etc. No orders will be taken until the artwork is prepared and proofs are made. However, the painting(s) are in the USA at the studio now and production will occur shortly. Paintings? Plural? Yes. Not only will we do this Pagoda painting, but one of Paul Bracq’s favorite DRIVING cars, the Porsche 911.
This is an announcement only. Every buyer of Pagoda Style will have a direct invitation and more information sent to them regarding this artwork very shortly.
