front sway bar link bushings
« on: April 05, 2012, 12:48:13 »
Hi.
Does anyone have a source for replacement swaybar links and or the rubber bushings? I really only need the rubber bushings for 3 of my cars.
Thanks in advance.

Has anyone price up the link assemblies. They are absurd. Some one out there must have a sourse for the rubber bushings alone.

Peter, if they are what I believe you are talking about, yes they are grossly expensive, even just the rubber bushings.  ??? :o  Read the following link as an alternatve has been suggested.  http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=15688.0  You can try the Classic Center or Dave Gallon for originals if you go that way.  I only replaced the rubber bushings and one of the rods, the rest I cleaned and repainted.

I used pollyurathane bushings on my car. The whole kit wasn't very much.

Those cheap ($20 per set) Energy Suspension links have polyurethane bushings and come in black like the originals, if you don't like those beautiful (NOT!) aftermarket red bushings.  The metal parts even look CAD plated, but may be yellow zinc plated.
In case you don't want to read the entire thread, the right Energy Suspension link kit part number for my 230SL was Energy Suspension 9.8165G.  The G is for black bushings.
