MBNA Magazine
« on: April 13, 2012, 02:01:21 »
I recently came across  a copy of a magazine which at one time was put out quarterly by the MBNA. The name of the magazine is appropriately enough "MERCEDES". Apparently the first issue was in 1981. It is small if measured by the number of pages but very slick. Very good glossy paper, all full color photography. No advertising. No editorial comments.

There was a listing of available publications which showed both Pagoda BBBs could be had for $25 each. There was also a story on the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart-Untertuerkheim which included  a picture of cars awaiting restoration. One of these cars was a 1952 prototype gullwing with a carbureted motor. Three carbs. Wonder if it is now in the permanent collection?

I hope to find additional copies of "MERCEDES"

I have seen the "Mercedes" magazine on ebay many times. They used to send out a subscription when you bought a car, but I do not remember how long that ran, year or two? I don't believe it is published any longer.

Could be Naj, but the one in the magazine had a gullwing door, at least on the left side (note I did not say drivers side).
