tech manual distributor rebuild
« on: April 25, 2012, 22:56:54 »
I was reading our new tech notes for members. I was wondering what the symptoms would be if a distributor is worn  or going bad ?

For me, the first symptom would be the timing wouldn't be constant (dist. not locked in) 2nd would be a "clicking" sound on acceleration (perhaps dwell) last resort could be a worn worm gear (pull dist. drive & inspect). Truth is: you won't know until you pull the entire dist. out & inspect, re-install with correct timing.
