I have never seen Karl Basch luggage that looked like that. It was much simpler and it looks different from the ones in the Pagoda sales brochure????
Is this a later production series because it looks more modern?

That is not the luggage that was a factory option for w113 cars.   My car had the luggage set, and as I was never going to make mine a concours beauty, I sold it a couple of years ago so someone who really wanted it could have it.  If you do a search on this site, the pictures may still be in that topic link.  I still have the photos somewhere on one of my old hard drives.  Like Doud says, the correct luggage was very simple on the outside (no grain). And they were not marked with any Mercedes logo or name.  This may explain why there are so few sets around now - people have it in their closet and forget it goes with the car...
Take care,

John
